An Act relative to increasing the cost of living adjustment (cola) base.
This bill would increase the base upon which a retiree’s COLA is calculated from $12,000 to $16,000, which would increase from $360 to $480 the maximum annual cost of living adjustment. The bill also provides individual pension systems with the option to continue using a $12,000 COLA base if that system also adopts a plan to fully fund its pension program by 2028 or later.
